Hi there, Golf Besties!
I can’t think of a better way to escape the Midwest frozen tundra this February than to head South like a snowbird for one the most exciting (and inclusive) events on the PGA Tour – the Waste Management Open, happening next week in Phoenix, Arizona.
As a special treat for our 1-year anniversary, we’re heading to “The People’s Open.” This isn’t just any golf tournament; it’s a week of monitored mayhem, social sport, BIG TIME FUN-level fun, and community spirit. Known for its legendary 16th hole, the WM Phoenix Open transforms golf into a lively celebration. We’re thrilled to be a part of it for the first time and to be taking you along for the ride.
Why This Tournament is on our Golf Bucket List
What makes the Phoenix Open so special? It’s the electric energy that permeates the event. Unlike the more traditional, reserved atmosphere of other golf tournaments, here, fans are encouraged to fully express their excitement. It’s a place where you can engage with the game in a vibrant way and feel the excitement so tangibly.
Connecting with Fans and Players
I am especially excited about the opportunity to connect with you, fellow fans, in person. After the reaction to the Golf for Swifties series on TTWA, I can’t wait to continue connecting you all to the game. The support of fans, friends, and family truly remains a driving force behind this outlet.
This tournament aligns with my imaginative approach to fandom, also. I believe that being a fan is about more than just being a loyal spectator. It’s about experiencing, engaging, and expressing our passion for the game. The Waste Management Phoenix Open creates an environment where this level of involvement isn’t just accepted, it’s celebrated. Let’s just hope it isn’t the bump-into-eachother-for-six-hours, kind of environment! TBD.
