Morning, Early Birds!
It’s 5:15am and today is the big day! ACL and meniscus repair surgery will be underway shortly.
As I’ve mentioned, Tee Time with Audrey emerged from the need to stay connected to the golf community during an injury-imposed hiatus that has me down for the count until late-fall. It was a way to share the passion for golf with a larger audience, allowing me to remain in contact with you all and share my love for the sport, even from the sidelines. I’m choosing to approach the injury and recovery with positivity and determination.
Today, I will be going “under” for ACL and meniscus repair. Anxiousness really seems to be flaring up more than anticipated. However, I’m holding onto to calming thoughts: 1. I am fortunate enough to have Colin, my husband with next-level bedside manner, to help me throughout the recovery process. and 2. I’m in great hands with my renowned pro-sports surgeon.
This injury has really presented an opportunity for introspection and personal growth. It’s during these unexpected halts that the most profound lessons seem to surface, mirroring the unpredictable nature of golf itself.
In preparation for the surgery and recovery phase, suggestions are welcomed for comfortable recovery essentials!
Really leaning on this community’s shared experiences as a lighthouse during this upcoming phase because I, Audrey Tully, know so little about recovering from a sports injury that it is tangibly unsettling.
Additionally, as a part of the downtime routine that will more likely be filled with involuntary rest, a reading list is being compiled. Book recs needed! What I’m into: Leadership, self-improvement, business/Entrepreneurship, autobiographies, science/STEM/STEAM!
In the mean time, stay tuned for updates as I recover in record-breaking time!
