Winter is here, and while some golfers might view it as an off-season, I see it as the perfect opportunity to gear up for something big. I’m dedicating this winter to one major goal: winning the 2024 Women’s Member-Member Tournament at my club. Figured I would invite you all along for accountability’s sake so over the next 12 weeks, I’ll be exploring different golf fitness and wellness platforms and giving you a comprehensive review of each.
My Intentions
As I embark on this adventure, I want to share my specific intentions and goals with TTWA fans. I’ve teamed up with my trainer, Courtney, to create a development plan that’s not just about fitness but also the social side of training – really leaning into balance and motivation. This isn’t just about hitting the gym, it’s about building a stronger, more resilient version of myself while habit stacking and showing up for myself. Here are my areas of focus:
- Strength for Power and Precision: I’ll be working on targeted strength programs that build muscle specifically for golf swing power and precision, enhancing my swing quality.
- Improving Balance for Stability: Including exercises to improve my balance, achieving a steadier setup and a more consistent swing, crucial in my recovery from ACL surgery.
- Boosting Endurance for the Long Game: Focusing on increasing my overall endurance, integrating routines that build strength and enhance my stamina on the course.
- A Holistic Approach to Fitness: The routines are a mix of exercises like neck rotations, single-arm dumbbell rows, and renegade rows, emphasizing core strength, flexibility, and balance – all vital for an effective golf swing.
- Recovery as a Priority: Mindful of balancing intensity with proper recovery, especially important in my journey of recovering from ACL surgery.
